For Once Choose Fight Not Flight

There's something about the moment when you finish a book...when you understand everything that the author wanted to say, and all the metaphors  makes perfect sense...  And the moment when we realize all the subtle hints that the author had been giving through out the book or the series...  When I reach the end of a book what I find is that the author has been a pretty smart guy. He hid the hints in places where you would least expect them, places which actually seem damn boring like some geek muttering some crap. And just like the main characters we also fail to recognize them. And when the climax comes and we realise those hints, we usually flip back through the pages and find it right there! And the first thing that we say? " How did I miss this?" So what's the point of this? How can a book teach you to deal with life? And the answer lies in accepting that your life is just like a book...You're the hero of this book. You'll find those major c...

Journey of a Song

It's about a song. Many songs.  Listen to it just for the sake of listening, or understand the song. See the bigger picture.  If you're into Bollywood music you'll understand this even better because in these movies the songs find their context, fit perfectly into the story. And that's quite exactly what a song does to our lives as well. I mean who doesn't want to believe that their life is a movie? But coming back to the original idea of the journey of a song... Phase 1- Love at first hearing: So this amazing journey begins right from the time you hear for the song for the first time when it strikes the right chords of your heart. You might hear it on the radio or YouTube. And then? Magic it is. Like almost suddenly you fall for that song. But obviously there are reasons behind this. We fall for these songs because they quite simply express our hearts' unexplained emotions. The entire music industry works on the fact that we a...

“Let the rain wash away all the pain of yesterday”

“Let the rain wash away all the pain of yesterday” Let the rain get to you I  read this line somewhere, and I’m gonna remember this all my life. Although now I’m not in contact with the person who said this to me, I’ve made a mental note not to forget the lessons that person taught me.         Over the past few months  I have realized that it is really important to learn to appreciate that pain. That agony will always bring loads of lessons to be learned and above all it will bring hope. Hope, that next time it would be better, Hope, that next time I’ll deal with the situations in a more sensible way, Hope, that tomorrow will be much brighter than today. And with the pain there will be scars, scars which will remind you that you walked straight through hell and made it out alive. The scars will prove to you that inside this piece of human flesh ,lives an ever-growing mind, a mind that showed up when it was subjected to all ...

For all those someones in my life

Hardcore. The word we all root for. Work for. Stand for. But if you're in a serious problem what are you most likely to do? Will you choose to face it alone and prove to the whole wide world that you're really strong? But what if you can face that problem with someone by your side? Someone with that vibe.  Someone you cares for you no matter what. Someone who always has that beautiful smile for you. Someone who will tirelessly walk a mile just to see that you're alright.. Someone who will purely love you even when you can't love yourself and understand you when you can't understand yourself. Isn't that someone just the person you need in your life? So ask yourself. How many such someones have you met in your life?  Right now while reading this most people would have just one person in their head but trust me there are many more. Ever heard those wedding vows?   “From this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in ...

To the New Endings

They say creation and destruction are two sides of the same coin. And the time between each creation and its successive destruction- the inter-phase is what's commonly called life. But the point is maybe the ending to something good is just the beginning of something even better. Better people, better experiences and better choices and sometimes it is just good to start all  over again but this time properly implementing what the previous person or experience taught you. So here I've a poem I wrote in the last 30 minutes of our 9th grade annual examinations... To the New Endings The year has ended finally, Although the exams felt like eternity, The school year passed away in friendships and fraternity. People say life is a journey, But this year I realised its irony, People will enter your life, Shake it up a bit, And get down eventually, Leaving you in solitary. Maybe that is life , Not just heart and flowers but also the damned knife, But we still face it...
